WHY WE STARTED DINNER SORTED
Two busy people with a familiar problem
We are Eugene and Celia, and like many working couples, our days are full. Eugene is a financial manager who supports several large companies, while I own and run a busy dance studio where I am also the principal teacher. Our schedules are demanding, and we often arrive home later than planned.
But the working day does not end when we walk through the door.
There is still dinner to think about, food to prepare, dishes to clean, school and work bags to pack, and everything to organise for the following day. By the time we finally sit down, there is often very little energy left for the people who matter most.
We realised that many busy families experience the same daily pressure. The problem is not always a lack of food. It is the constant planning, deciding, shopping, preparing and cleaning that comes with putting a good meal on the table every night.
That is why we created Dinner Sorted.
FAMILY IS AT THE HEART OF IT
More time together
Eugene’s children, Marko and Emmie, and my daughter, Lecia, are a big part of why Dinner Sorted matters so much to us.
Like many families, our evenings can become a rush of work, school commitments, preparation for the following day and the familiar question: “What are we having for dinner?”
Keeping the freezer stocked does not make life less busy, but it removes one daily decision and gives us more time to slow down, hear about one another’s day and enjoy being together.
Those everyday moments are important to us. Dinner Sorted was created to help other busy households make more room for them too.
MORE TIME FOR WHAT MATTERS
Making room for the life we love
Outside of work, music is a big part of who we are. Together, we have a band project called SYRAAS. But after long working days, dinner planning and preparing for the following day, music was often the first thing pushed aside.
Dinner Sorted began with a simple goal: to reclaim some of that time.
By choosing our meals or a convenient bundle in advance, we can keep the freezer stocked for the next week or two and remove the nightly pressure of deciding what to eat.
For us, the time we save creates more room for music, family and each other. For another household, it might mean more time with the children, an opportunity to rest or simply a calmer evening after work.
Dinner Sorted is not only about what is for dinner. It is about what you can do with the time you get back.
